Multicultural Mental Health Australia
Established in 1995, it is a national body that links State and Territory transcultural mental health centres and networks with the goal of improving mental health outcomes for Australia’s diverse communities. This web site provides links to brochures and other media that have been translated into community languages, sources for paper copies of the brochures and multilingual dictionaries. Browse or search their database of mental health resources to locate what your are looking for.



New Mexico Refugee Health Program
A large grouping of Internet links which lead to foreign-language materials that may be of use to any health care professional who may be serving refugees and/or immigrants.

 

NSW Multicultural Health
This statewide service based in the South Eastern Sydney Australia Area Health Service provides quality information about health issues and health services to people of non-English speaking backgrounds in their service area. This project an on-going cooperative effort of many individuals. Choose the topic you are interested in then click on the topic heading in the blue column at left. Once you find the publication you want, you can view and print it from your computer without purchasing any special language software.

"24 Languages Project"
Electronic access to over 200 health education brochures in 24 different languages originally from the Bureau of Primary Care, Rural and Ethnic Health section of the Utah Department of Health. It is now being hosted on EthnoMed.



Vaccine Information Statements (VISs)
These are information sheets produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that explain to vaccine recipients, their parents, or their legal representatives both the benefits and risks of a vaccine. Federal law requires that VISs be handed out whenever certain vaccinations are given.

36 language sets contain Food Pyramids plus four handouts for healthy adults, mothers and babies, mature adults, and children, which may be used individually or as a package. Produced by three Columbus, OH-based healthcare systems, this site is a work in progress which aims to provide culturally appropriate materials to promote health education and wellness among immigrant populations who may not speak English as a primary language. Translated Health Forms and Documents
The
Foundation for Healthy Communities in New Hampshire created this new tool for New Hampshire health care providers to easily find translated health forms and documents. They recommend that the translated forms in 10 languages be used with their English counterparts to ensure that all parties are aware of what is being communicated. Each translated form also is posted in English. An unique facet of this tool is that the documents are posted, when possible, in a Word format in order to allow for easy customizing.
